BRE 500: Special Topic – ProMax Exercise: Sulfur Recovery Unit

Instructor-led demonstration is followed by hands-on exercises. ProMax will be used in this session, which will take approximately 3.5 hours. Agenda

This exercise provides attendees with hands on experience simulating a sulfur recovery unit in ProMax. Attendees will learn to use Gibbs Minimization reactors used to simulate the main burner, waste heat boiler, sulfur condensers, and Claus beds. Attendees will also create a custom recovery property to evaluate the unit's performance, and will optimize the unit's sulfur recovery by implementing a tail gas H2S:SO2 ratio controller.
