BRE 700: Lecture Series – What’s New in ProMax 7.0?

Upcoming Sessions

DatesLocation
7/16/2026 - 7/16/2026Online - - Europe and Asia

This lecture is the first in the “New in 7” lecture series, and will cover an overview of the new features introduced in ProMax® 7.0. The presentation highlights key improvements and new capabilities across ProMax’s core modeling areas, including Data Exchange (for digital twins), Amine & Carbon Capture systems, Sulfur Recovery, Dehydration, Adsorption, Gas Processing, Oil Refining, Hydrotreating, Equipment Rating & Sizing, Pipeline Networks, and Depressurization.

Access to ProMax is not needed for this session, which will take approximately 1.5 hours. The lecture series is hosted over Webex, and information on how to connect to the session will be provided after registration. For more information about a particular BRE 700: Lecture Series course please Contact Training.

Agenda

  • Improvements to existing Process Modeling Capabilities
    • Pipelines – Build and solve a pipeline network from GIS data in seconds with the new Pipeline Network Solver tool.
    • Amines & Carbon Capture – Model amine facilities with proprietary solvents from Evonik and Clariant, as well as various generic amine blends for carbon-capture.
    • Sulfur Recovery – Compare alumina and titania Claus catalyst performance in your SRU and predict sulfuric acid condensation in burners to help avoid corrosion.
    • Adsorption – Accurately rate molecular sieves and other adsorption units with isotherm input support.
    • Refinery Reactors – Fine-tune hydro-processing reactors with new input support, and better model sulfuric acid alkylation units with the new specialized concentrated acid property package.
  • New Equipment Rating Tools
    • Valve Sizing & Rating – Easily select from more than 4,000 commercially available valves using a new filterable interface.
    • Heat Exchanger Rating – Accurately rate bath or tank heater units with the new Natural Convection heat transfer method.
    • Separator Rating – Determine whether a vessel is fit for a given separation duty with the new rating feature.
    • Column Rating – Model bubble-cap tray columns or estimate packed column HETP with newly added tools.
  • Environmental & Safety
    • Emissions – Estimate emissions from liquid spills, and from square and rectangular storage tanks.
    • Relief Valve and Depressurization – Size relief valves for dynamic fire-case depressurization scenarios, calculate vessel blowdown time, and more with the new depressurization block.
    • Solid Modeling – Predict hydrocarbon freeze out in LNG plants.
  • ProMax’s Automated Data Exchange & Optimizer – How it enables digital twins to optimize, debottleneck, and infer data about your plant.
  • Quality of Life Features
    • More Flexible Stream Specifications
    • Reference Stream Block
    • Solver Progress Plotting
    • And more!
